A parent had an idea. An agency built it.

TeamLedger is the product Gary Boyd wished existed when he volunteered to run his kid's team finances. He brought the idea, the lived experience, and the relentless eye for detail. SolGuruz brought the design and engineering. This page is the story of how those two halves came together.

The Gary Boyd story

The idea came from a Sunday night.

Gary is a youth-sports parent and a volunteer team manager. He ran the roster spreadsheet, fielded the Venmo notifications, kept the receipts in a folder, and chased the late payments by text. Like every TM, he kept the books on free time he didn't really have. The product idea grew out of that lived experience, and his standards for it have shaped every workflow that ships.

Three patterns Gary kept seeing across teams.

  • Volunteer TMs spend Sunday nights pinging fourteen parents about overdue league fees. That time should belong to a one-click reminder.
  • Divorced and separated families need both parents informed on their own channels. The product should make that the default, not a workaround.
  • When a parent asks about a March payment in October, the TM should have a tamper-proof statement to send back in 30 seconds, not a memory and a screenshot.

League software was built for league directors with payroll departments. Generic small-business accounting had no concept of a roster. The right product was the one nobody had built yet, focused on a single volunteer running a single team. Gary set the brief; SolGuruz turned it into software.

Who built it

Created by Gary Boyd, built with SolGuruz.

TeamLedger was designed and engineered by SolGuruz, a software product agency with engineers in India and the US. They handle product design, full-stack engineering, and ongoing operations for the teams they partner with, including SaaS, fintech, and vertical web product builds.

Gary holds the product reins. SolGuruz holds the keyboard. Every workflow you see was sketched against a real Sunday night, then built against the math that has to balance the Monday after.

Design & engineering

Engineers, designers, and QA who turn the brief into shipping software. The same crew that builds for SolGuruz clients across the US and India.

The team that builds the product is the team you reach when you email us. Real names, real shipping cadence, real ownership.

Four values we will not negotiate.

Every product decision gets tested against these. If it fails one, it does not ship.

Clear scope, published in plain sight

Every workflow that ships is a workflow we believe in. We list the deliberate boundaries (record-keeping, not card processing; web, not native; one TM per team) so the product matches its marketing. Fewer surprises, faster trust.

Math that adds up to the cent

Every split, every refund, every fundraiser. Stored as integer cents end-to-end; rounding is deterministic and reproducible. When your treasurer asks the books to balance, they balance.

Audit trail as the default

The audit log is append-only at the database level, the app role itself lacks UPDATE and DELETE on it. Records cannot be silently rewritten, and tamper-proofing ships in the free tier, not as an enterprise upgrade.

Volunteer-first design

Every workflow is built for a parent who agreed to do this for one season. If a feature would only make sense to a CPA, it does not ship. If a workflow takes more than three clicks, we redesign it.
